Spotlight Search is a search tool to find the most suitable health and fitness products

Short Description

Health and fitness is a pretty crowded sector with myriad products that are difficult to differentiate and even difficult to find out that they exist. What is needed is a search / display tool that makes a shortlist/selection of products based on filters chosen by the customer. With this list, the customer can visit MediaMarkt health lounges/ Health Spaces to try them out. The Spotlight Search tool will come as an app (mobile devices), webapp and/or a browser extension (desktop/laptop). This will be cross-platform (MacOS, iOS, Android, Windows) and users will be able to switch between different devices without starting from zero. *** The Spotlight Search should ideally be a part of the MediaMarkt Health Space service, and be an integral part of the app. *** The Spotlight Search filters would be based on: - demographics (e.g. babies, children, seniors, etc.) - body height & weight - gender - body region of interest (skin, muscles, feet, ears, etc.) - activity of interest (running, strength, sleep, etc.) - gadget features (to be chosen from a list, e.g. WLAN connectivity, etc.) - budget With this Spotlight Search will create a list of product recommendations for that search query which the customer can store as a QR code for later use. The recommended products can be tried out in the lounge by the customer under guidance of a trained salesperson. Additionally, Spotlight Search Feature is a showcase that will feature one new product every week. This will be a virtual platform for product shows and launches and will ensure maximum product visibility. Therefore, MediaMarkt can generate additional revenues with this and with give-aways, can ensure a high level of user interaction and engagement.

Health and/or wellbeing experience

Going through the process of creating a filter forces the customer to think through and prioritise their needs and preferences. This saves them a lot of time subsequently and reduces the chances of being disappointed, as they are making better informed decisions.

Being able to store their search query as a QR code makes it easier to repeat previous searches. The code can be saved in the app and the software can machine-read the code, when required. This is a big convenience feature.

Additionally, the Spotlight Search will feature one new product every week. This will be a virtual platform for product shows and launches and will ensure maximum product visibility.

In the physical lounge itself, assistance by trained sales persons (unlike today's poorly trained ones) will help customers differentiate between features and products and find the right devices/gadgets for their needs. Similar to an upmarket product showroom, customers visiting the lounges will be offered complimentary drinks and snacks that are healthy and nutritious.
