A subscription that allows perpetual trial, testing, borrowing of new gadgets for 4 weeks

Short Description

With so many new devices and gadgets coming out, it is difficult to decide what to buy. The MediaMarkt Health Subscription can change this. Subscriptions would allow members to borrow and test different brands and products for up to 4 weeks. This would allow them to keep trying out products or using the subscription to decide on certain products. Which products would be available for subscriptions? Initially, it should be those that have to do directly with health, fitness, wellness. These would be: - Fitness-Tracker and Smart Watches - Massage chairs - Massage belts - various monitoring devices (esp. Wearables) - connected Fitness devices (e.g. Peloton) - special mattresses - mood enhancing lights, etc. Ideally, this should be developed as an online-first service offering. That means, a lot of emphasis needs to be placed on the functioning of the service on the web and ensuring that proper technical and service infrastructures are in place from the go.

Health and/or wellbeing experience

Members get to try out different gadgets and decide for themselves what works best for them and can switch to another gadget when they do not like it or their needs change. For technophiles, it fulfils a big emotional need too, esp. without burning their pockets or generating unnecessary e-waste.

The membership/subscription card is a physical pendant to an app that will allow members to

  • reserve and return devices
  • contact customer service
  • leave comments/feedback
  • connect with other participants
  • vote in polls
  • participate in market surveys
  • post pictures directly to companies/brands
  • pay for membership/subscriptions
  • track their usage and changes in health/fitness

To enhance the exclusivity of this service, the card itself should be made of either bio-materials or metals (a la Apple).

Members could also be linked directly with brands on offer so that these can co-develop new products/services with them. This will transform the subscription service into an innovation platform for health and fitness solutions.
