Product recommendation for outreach
Using old smartphones to understand the consumers and recommend health care products that is relevant to their age, gender & need.
Short Description
Selling a face trimmer to a woman makes no sense, so the idea is to use old smartphones processing capabilities to identify each user and recommend a targeted product that fits their need, when customers are going through each rack of goods, the smartphone camera embedded in the rack, detects the user and recommends the product accordingly, the smart AI system looks for age, gender, size, height of the individual in making these decisions. This will help Mediamarkt to reach out with various healthcare products they have.
Health and/or wellbeing experience
-
Elderly health care experience:- When a senior citizen walks into the shop and go through various products in the shelf, often the issue I see is the find it hard to read the price tag of products, so what if the smartphone unit inbuilt voice search or shwoin the QR code on the camera, tells the price loudly. "That product costs $10".
-
As part of outreach program the smartphone embedded units will recommend healthcare products for senior citizens.
-
Healthcare experience for women:- There are some healthcare products that are for women, so in that case when the smartphone camera spots a woman it will recommend and highlight these products to them.
-
Kids health care experience:- Certain health care toys appeal to kids so what if we got the attention of kids with smart recommendation.
-
Fitness freaks:- When the smartphone camera spots a person with a well built body and muscles the AI system understands that this person is more into fitness and workouts, so it recommends workout products and mentions offers and discounts related to this.
For customers entering the shop they want to buy the goods that they need in the shortest period of time, they are not interested in things which they are not planning to buy, so based on the age, gender, size, height of the customer many products become obsolete for the users, so what if a smart recommendation engine embedded within the racks of products, look at the person identifies them and suggests product that it finds useful for them. In the example shown there are 2 kids which is part of a family walking in the shop and shopping, so the system recommends or informs that there are 2 smart watches to track kids health for $99. Here the system was smart to detect the 2 kids and recommend 2, as mostly when parents purchase things they buy it for both their kids else they end up fighting. In terms of sales, such smart moves will help sell 2 instead one product too, the customer also gets a discount, sales person cannot go and recommend products to all the customers that is where I feel these recycled smartphone intelligence embedded in racks will be useful. Also in the post covid-19 world people would hesitate to interact much with sales person, so this is ideal. It is also possible to adjust the lighting of products to focus the products that is relevant to them and dim out irrelevant products when they approach the racks where products are placed.
Target group
Busy customers want to shop quickly, so these recycled smartphone intelligence unit will assist them and help them to showcase what is relevant to them.
